Leaving On a Jet Plane

Christian’s Music Musings is going on a short hiatus

Happy Thursday! I’m about to embark on a long-planned and previously postponed trip to Germany to finally see some family and friends there after more than 2.5 years. Instead of going nuts with pre-writing and scheduling posts, I’ve decided to take a short hiatus.

My plan is to resume blogging on August 13. In the meantime, I’ll probably keep an occasional eye on posts from fellow bloggers. You may also see my two cents here and there.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow bloggers and other visitors for reading the blog and commenting on posts. Not only do I feel I learn a lot about music in the process, but I also enjoy the engagement.

For now, I’m leaving you with a Spotify playlist of songs that are related to travel and holidays, at least in a broader sense. It’s a bit of a hodgepodge, and I decided to have some fun with it and take some liberties. But unlike the lyrics of the first tune, I know I’ll be back again. See y’all then! 🙂

    1. Exactly, as I noted in the post. At least I hope so!

My dad cheerfully told me last Sunday that there may be a Lufthansa pilot strike that could start while I’m in Germany. I’m flying United, but the plane is operated by Lufthansa.

But I suppose one step after the other. First I want to get there! And should the pilot strike happen and impact my return flight, I guess I could do worse than getting stuck in Germany!😆

      1. I once had an interview with Lufthansa! They operate a customer service center in Canada. I didn’ t get the job but it was quite interesting. I got to see their control room- after the leaders confiscated all of our (there were probably 8 of us) cell phones to make sure we couldn’t take any pictures or record anything.

      2. Oh, please, like the Lufthansa control room would include anything that’s classified. Whatever they have in their miraculous control rooms, it doesn’t seem to make much if any impact on sticking to their flight schedules – my departure flight is already 2 hours delayed!😕

But at least there will always be great music.😎 As long as I get there sometime tomorrow, I won’t let it stress me out too much. Nothing I can do about delays anyway!

  1. Enjoy your break, Christian. Will be good to get to see family and friends after all that time. (paul and I are ddong the same … taking August off – not flying to Germany with you, so no need to worry!) 😉 😀
